New federal law (H.R. 1, signed July 4, 2025) made big changes to Medicaid across the country.
Nebraska chose to act early. Nebraska will be the FIRST state to start the new work requirements — starting May 1, 2026.
More changes are coming after May. There are four waves of changes total. This website covers all of them.
Not everyone is affected. Many people are automatically exempt.
