Report to DHHS anything that might change eligibility or the work requirements- such as job changes, income changes, household changes etc.
This is the most important step.
If your address, phone number, or email is wrong, you could miss an important message and lose your coverage.
Make sure Medicaid has your correct:
Updating your information at a hospital or doctor’s office is NOT enough.
Even if your hospital, clinic, or doctor has your new address or phone number, the State of Nebraska does NOT automatically receive that update.
To ensure Nebraska Medicaid has your correct contact information and prevent loss of coverage, immediately update your information via the iServe Nebraska portal, by calling (855) 632-7633, or emailing DHHS.ANDICenter@nebraska.gov.
Medicaid may send you a letter, email, or text message about the changes.
Watch for messages from Nebraska DHHS or your Medicaid managed care plan.
IMPORTANT: If Medicaid contacts you, you MUST respond within 30 days.
If you do not respond, you could lose your coverage.
Do NOT ignore letters or messages from Medicaid.
Starting May 1, 2026, you will need to do 80 hours per month of an approved activity.
Keep a simple record. You may need to show proof. Here is what counts as proof:
| If you are working:
Pay stubs or employer letter Your work schedule Tax forms (W-2 or 1099) |
If you are in school or training:
Enrollment letter or transcript Class schedule Program completion certificate |
| If you are volunteering:
Sign-in sheets from the organization Letter from the volunteer coordinator |
If you are looking for a job: Job applications you submitted NEworks job search records Notes from a job counselor |
Good news: If Medicaid does not send you a letter or message, you do NOT need to send anything.
Just keep your contact info current and watch your mail.
