For NEW enrollees, applicants will have to meet the work requirements in the month prior to application. So since they’re implementing in May, new applicants will have to have met work requirements in this month of April to be eligible.
For EXISTING Medicaid enrollees, DHHS will check that they’ve met work requirements when they renew their coverage. This will start for people whose renewal dates are on or after July 31, 2026. To stay eligible, they must have met the work requirements for at least one month since their last renewal.
